3M™ Marine Adhesive Sealant Fast Cure 4200FC, White, 2.97 fl oz (88 mL)
A fast-curing, one-part polyurethane adhesive sealant for flexible, watertight and weather-resistant bonding in marine applications. Its medium-strength bond helps secure marine hardware while allowing parts to be disassembled when service or replacement is required.
Why choose 4200FC?
- Fast curing: develops a tack-free surface in approximately 1 hour and typically cures in 24 hours.
- Flexible adhesion: helps accommodate stress caused by shock, vibration, swelling and shrinking.
- Watertight sealing: helps form weather-resistant seals on joints and boat hardware.
- Medium strength: supports secure bonding while allowing for disassembly of parts.
- One-part polyurethane: moisture-curing formula is ready to use without mixing.
Marine applications
3M™ 4200FC is designed for marine bonding, bedding and sealing work where a flexible, serviceable seal is needed.
Suitable substrates
The sealant is formulated for good adhesion to common marine substrates including wood, fiberglass, gelcoat, plastics and metals. It can be used on joints and boat hardware above and below the waterline when applied according to the product instructions.
Application guidance
Prepare the surfaces
Remove dirt, oil, old sealant and other contamination. Surfaces should be sound and properly prepared before application.
Apply a continuous bead
Apply by hand or pressure caulk, placing enough sealant to create continuous contact around the joint or hardware.
Assemble and tool
Assemble parts while the sealant is workable. Tool or remove excess material according to the product instructions.
Allow to cure
Allow approximately 24 hours for typical full cure. Actual cure time can vary with bead depth, temperature, humidity and moisture availability.
