3M Particulate Filter 5N11 N95

Add N95 particulate filtration to your 3M bayonet platform without changing your gas and vapor stack.

eGrimesDirect • Authorized 3M Distributor
The 3M 5N11 is a particulate prefilter that clicks onto the 3M bayonet system. Use it with 3M Gas and Vapor Cartridges 6000 Series and secure it with the 3M Filter Retainer 501. For particulate only work, mount it on the 3M Filter Adapter 603. The polyester Advanced Electret media supports low breathing resistance while capturing dusts and mists consistent with NIOSH N95 requirements. Replace whenever breathing resistance rises, the filter is visibly soiled, or the filter is damaged.
N95 filter class Bayonet connection Non oil aerosols Polyester electret media 100 filters per case NIOSH Approved

Quick setup in three moves

  1. With cartridges Place one 5N11 on each 3M 6000 Series gas and vapor cartridge. Lock using the 3M 501 retainer until it clicks.
  2. Particulate only Snap the 5N11 onto the 3M 603 adapter and secure with the 501 retainer for dust and mist tasks that do not require gas and vapor control.
  3. Fit and service Fit test users, perform a seal check, and change filters when resistance increases or when filters look dirty or are damaged.

Why crews choose it

  • Add particulate control to a reusable respirator without replacing cartridges
  • Control costs by changing the prefilter while the cartridge remains in service
  • Advanced Electret Media supports efficient capture with easy breathing
  • Installs in seconds with the 501 retainer and minimal training
  • Backed by 3M NIOSH approvals in the N95 class when used as instructed

What it helps filter

Helps reduce exposure to certain non oil based particulates when used with compatible 3M half or full facepieces and the 3M 501 retainer.

  • Airborne dusts and mists from sanding, grinding, machining, and paint prep
  • Silica containing dusts encountered in construction and fabrication
  • Mold remediation and general cleanup where N95 is appropriate
  • Asbestos tasks only where regulations and approvals permit N95 use

Not for atmospheres that are immediately dangerous to life or health. Not for environments that require a 100 level filter.

N indicates not resistant to oil. 95 indicates the filter is tested to capture at least 95 percent of airborne particles in the standard NIOSH test aerosol when used as directed.
The bayonet is 3M’s quarter turn style connection that lets you mount cartridges and prefilters securely with a short twisting motion and positive engagement.
Advanced Electret Media uses permanently charged fibers to attract and hold particulates while keeping pressure drop low for easier breathing.

Will this fit my respirator Yes if your reusable respirator uses the 3M bayonet connection and appears in the compatibility list above. Secure each filter with the 3M 501 retainer. For particulate only work, mount on the 3M 603 adapter.
How often should I change the filter Change whenever breathing resistance increases, when the filter is visibly dirty, or if the filter is damaged. Change intervals depend on process and environment. For planning help, use the 3M Select and Service Life Software at 3M.com/sls.
Is this the same as P95 No. N95 is for non oil aerosols. Choose a P series filter if oil containing aerosols are present.
