Cleaner air throughout your home

Filtrete™ Allergen Defense filters use electrostatic technology to attract and capture airborne particles as air moves through your central heating and cooling system.

The filter helps reduce airborne allergens and household particles in the air circulated through residential HVAC systems.

Deep-pleat construction

The 4 inch deep-pleat format provides more filter media than many standard 1 inch filters. This design supports efficient particle capture while fitting compatible 4 inch residential HVAC filter cabinets.

Always confirm that your furnace or air handler is designed for a 20 x 20 x 4 inch filter before ordering.

Particles the filter helps capture

The Filtrete™ Allergen Defense Micro Allergen Deep Pleat Filter is designed to attract and capture a range of common airborne particles, including:

Pet dander Smoke Household dust Pollen Mold spores Lint Smog particles Dust mite debris Cough and sneeze debris Bacteria Viruses

Benefits of a 4 inch deep filter

01

More filter media

Deep-pleat construction provides more filter surface area than many standard 1 inch furnace filters.

02

Longer replacement interval

The filter is designed to last up to 12 months under normal residential conditions.

03

Whole-home filtration

Installed in a central HVAC system, the filter helps treat air as it circulates through the home.

04

Residential application

Designed for residential heating and cooling systems using compatible 20 x 20 x 4 inch filter cabinets.

Before ordering

  1. Confirm that your HVAC system accepts a 20 x 20 x 4 inch nominal filter.
  2. Check the airflow direction arrow on the replacement filter and install it in the correct direction.
  3. Confirm that the filter cabinet has enough clearance for a 4 inch deep filter.
  4. Replace the filter according to system conditions, household air quality needs and the manufacturer's recommended schedule.

Installation and replacement guidance

01

Turn off the system

Switch off the furnace or air handler before removing the old filter.

02

Check airflow direction

Install the replacement filter with the airflow arrow pointing toward the furnace, air handler or return-side equipment.

03

Seat the filter properly

Make sure the filter is fully seated in the cabinet and that air cannot bypass the filter around the edges.

04

Replace as needed

Filtrete lists a service life of up to 12 months. Replace sooner if the filter becomes heavily loaded or airflow is reduced.
